Impressive! '2000kg of downforce from 0mph' - does that become 'upforce' when inverted?!

Maybe they could add an instant “jump over speedhumps” button!

thats brilliant PR for McMurtry

Followers of F1 will often hear the quote that an F1 car 'could' drive upside down due to the downforce it creates at xxxmph.

McMurty proves it

yes

ETA : It's also gone around Top Gear's Dunsfold track 5 seconds quicker than Alonso in a F1 car.

After seeing the Goodwood hillclimb run a few years ago i'm a fan.

Edit: It's a shame they're pussyfooting around with it running at 50% power at so many places. Also doing runs only with amateur drivers.
It would be great if they just let Chilton run wild at full power and smash as many records as possible.

Why would anyone not care? It's an absolutely incredible demonstration of what the motor car is possible of constantly.

How can it be cool? It's fecking electric, and we're on PistonHeads when I last checked. biggrin

The world of cars has gone to pot for me, granted I am a dinasour though, and I presume that the younger generations than me might think that this is cool and trendy though in fairness.

Can't even spell Dinosaur. Combustion peaked probably and what a peak it was.

You actively slate the GR Yaris at every opportunity which is probably the most interesting piston car anyone under a millionaire can afford.

Pick a horse and back it.

If you can’t see anything impressive here then you aren’t into cars. You are into the engine and that’s it.

I can't spell granted, but for me I struggle to get excited about a tiny 3 cylinder engine though, so you could argue that you're actually better off going for an electric car instead really.

I do back horses don't get me wrong, but I prefer the bigger ones in fairness. biggrin

If someone offered me a car with a 6 litre V12 engine in it for example, I'm not going to say that I don't want that, and please give me the tiny 3 cylinder engined car instead am I? Who would? confused

This is what some folk can't or don't want to understand about me really though? I am all about the engine(hence why I dislike electric), and I always have been. So naturally an electric car no matter how fast it is won't impress me, because it is missing the most important part of the car for me for example.

It's nothing to do with age! Other than about 5 cars, I wonder if you are a fan of cars at all. Regardless of how it's propelled, it's a seriously impressive bit of engineering, it wouldn't be half as good if it was powered by an engine.

It has everything to do with age for me, and I absolutely love cars with engines for sure. Plus I currently own 4 cars with engines in them for example as well. I just don't like cars without engines that's all though, and liking cars without engines is the more modern way to do it I think in my opinion.

Electric cars are the new trendy I think, whereas I prefer the older school way of doing it in comparison though. I just need to be a bit more open minded to the new trendy though to be honest arguably.
