Audi RS4 B7 Interior Upgrade/Re-Trim
Discussion
Hi All,
Since my last big thread, a few years ago, on the re-furbishment of the underside of my Audi RS2 and the following it got, i am embarking on a new mission to upgrade and retrim the interior of my RS4 B7, by way of having a new tan interior manufactured and fitted into it. I have a Deep Green Pearl Audi RS4 B7 Avant, the green is absolutly beautiful and apprently very rare too, the interior at the moment is all black, so i have decided to have it changed to tan colour as i feel it goes so well with green.
I have decided to farm this job out as its not something that i can do, plus i dont have the equipment to do it either, ill leave it to the professionals, I found a great guy in Highbridge, Somerset, he did some work for me on a Mk5 Golf GTi Pirelli that i used to own and the headlining dropped, big time, from the front to the back of the car had dropped around a foot from the roof. I was really impressed with the work he did and the finish he got on the headlining, so much so that i decided to ask if he would like to do the full retrim on my RS, he jumped at it. We agreed a price and a schedule for him to finish and complete, I took the car over to him this morning and have left it with him, he showed me the leather that i picked out to have fitted. A couple of weeks ago i sat down with him and went through all his sample books to look at all the leathers in tan, i eventally ended up going with a Connolly leather in Ochre (tan colour).
I will go to see how he is getting on every couple of days and get plenty of photos of him working on the car and to see how he is doing and how the car changes over the next 2 weeks, ill show the pictures on here, if anyone is really interested. Even if youre not interested ill still put them on here so that anyone in the future who might want to use the Trimmer or to see how its done, it might give them some impetus to them getting theirs done. So ill start with showing the car then the leather that we opened up the package from Connolly this morning.
The car and colour

I bought 2 full hides and the colour looks good to me

The Connolly leather, on the roll.

The front seats will be a mix of tan leather and black perforated leather, as will the rear seats, i will also have the door cards in tan for the front and the rear, the gearstick gater and the centre armrest will be in tan, as mentioned before i will update the pictures as and when i get them, it should make a good thread.
The thread for my RS2 is here, in case anyone hasnt seen it before, its good and the difference from before and after is amazing, im sure youll enjoy it.

This will look fantastic! - You might not have seen it, but a deep green B7 RS4 with exclusive cognac leather sold back in 2023, however it had the standard seats in it - https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2008-audi-b7-r...
I am planning a similar tan/cognac retrim for my E39 M5, I will be following with interest.

Just echoing what what has been said, love the exterior and it’s going to have interior to match. Are you doing the dash at all and would you mind sharing how much the re-trim is costing? Looking doing similar to mine, pm me if you prefer…
Not doing the dash as its hard plastic, im only replacing the black leather for tan leather.LeighW said:
Thanks, it was done a good few years ago, but the pleather (not leather)
has held up well.
Any particular reason why you're going for part black rather than all tan? The tan RS4 earlier in the thread looks fantastic.
Yes, the reason im doing part tan and black is that the dash top and front, plus the top and bottom of the door cards will be black plus there is still plastic/carbon and brushed stainless on the doors and dash, the steering wheel is still black and i would like the seats to blend in with everything else and not be so abrupt with the difference between black and tan. If you see what i mean, i want it to flow through the car.

Ah, right, understood. Just an update, I've been over to see what's going on and to see any progress, he only started on the car yesterday as he had to clear all other pending work. Looks like he has started on rear door cards and rear seats, I'll drop a few pictures below so you can see. My next update will be next Saturday so he should be well into it by then, I will add some pictures of him workshop, which is not massive but he has all the tools.

And a couple of special pictures of seats from a Ferrari Dino, he's working in next.

Nice thread!
During a brief stint in Audi sales, I had a demo B7 A4 Cabrio in Deep Green. Think it was a 2.0T, cannot remember if a quattro or not. Whilst I had a few people enquire about the car also asking if it was actually black, many wouldn't even come and see it once I'd confirmed it was indeed Deep Green.
Lovely colour!

This may well be my perfect car come the end of this. I just bought a B7 S4 Avant, in red, but what I really wanted was yellow or green. Obviously both came up for sale within a month of purchase. FML. Not really got the funds to run the RS4, but it is a magnificent beast and will look fantastic with the tan leather and green paint.
OK, I've been to see the car and have some update photos of the interior upgrade. Aaron tells me it's one of the most difficult cats to work on as the seat coverings are made so well, lots of "stiffeners" are incorporated in the leather work, which he has to ensure they're replaced as he works through the different panels of leather, he's getting the slowly but surely. I told him other to rush the job but to ensure it's done properly.

You can see the difference between the black perforated black leather inserts. The new one going in is a Mercedes perforated leather and not so shiny, which i think will match very well with the Connolly tan.

I'm going back over to visit the car on Wednesday, hopefully the front seats will be completed then.
