Freesat box issues

Hi,

Have started having issues when using our Freesat 4K 2gb box in the last few weeks. It started with the TV screen repeatedly going blank as if it kept losing the signal from the box. Then the last few nights it’s been a combination of losing sound, or the picture changes to a sparkling white screen.

First thought was the HDMI cable, so changed that out. Same issues. Changed it to a different input on the TV. Same again. Also tried rebooting the box.

Wondering if anyone else who has the same Freesat box has had any similar issues?

As far as I can tell the box auto updates so should be running the latest firmware.

I might buy a new HDMI cable at the weekend as the ones we have are years old and see if that works before looking at having to change the box.

You haven't mentioned what model the box is. Do you have any other HDMI sources you can try with the same cables and inputs?

Try changing the output resolution on the box, try 1080p or similar HD resolution.

Was it a Humax?

They seem to have a lifetime of about 5 years before hardware issues kick in.
