In 2004 they decided to put the yellow and green badge on the back of Elise and Exige models.

However, there was uproar as the dealers got a lot of hassle from customers saying that they hated the green and yellow badge on the back and wanted L O T U S back asap.

Lotus went back on their decision and put the more traditional badges back on. I don't even think the green and yellow badges were on for a complete model year. More like a few monnths.

I prefer the badge, mainly because before rover went bust selling pensioner wagons the sticker on the rear said R O V E R just like the lotus sticker!

This is going to turn into one of those nasty, nasty debates with no right or wrong answer isn't it? Just like the long-standing S1 vs. S2 debate :P

Hmmm, let me think, quality enamel badge steeped in Lotus heritage, or dodgy Rover-esque stick on plastic lettering?

I'm proud to be a badge-boy!!!

The letters are like those stoopid shopping lists that go down the doors of chav wagons.

The Lotus badge says it all, the letters imply you have to have it spelt out to you

Admittedly I'm a badge-boy myself.... mind you, the Lotus lettering on the S1 is to my liking... a badge just wouldn't look right on an S1's rump

Now let me think..... It's plastic, not enamel.
It's Called cost cutting.
The old enamel badges were good & kept their colour, the plastic ones fade after a few years in sunlight

I'm a letters person

You could argue some arerodynamic benefit like the small lump in the rear of the car gives an initiatin point for vortex shedding but I think you'd be pushing sh1t uphill :P
