I need to get an intercom for some electric gates and really could use Hikvision, main reason being already got his cameras and nvr and I am currently on a mission to get rid of as many apps as possible and not add any more if I can hehe

Pros seem to wince at the word Hikvision, im not sure why as this is the second hit camera set up we've had and it seems good to me.

The intercom will be poe and in an ideal world actually call me when someone is there.

So, who uses Hikvision intercoms, good or bad?

Afraid not. Although we have Hik cctv throughout, the gates are too far away, so went for a stand-alone jobby with a SIM card in it.

Sim card intercom would be my answer. Reason being, other people (who are set up to do so) can ring it directly to let themselves in without bothering you or needing them to get out of the car. No app required at all! smile

Hikvision was always well regarded by installers last time I paid for such a service (I do it myself now), but I always found the Hikvision app incredibly slow to get back on when trying to switch from cameras to phone and back, for instance, so I on't use it any more.

We have Hikvision for the gates/intercom.

It's hardwired into our router and we have a couple of screens in the house that ring (along with the app) so you can have a look and press open.

I have no complaints with it, can take annoyingly long to let people in through the app if you're not home but that's probably due to mobile signal wherever you are. Comes with fobs for the car (works with built in opener in car too) and a keypad for the code.

Not ever used anything different so I couldn't comment further.
