I have always tried to keep OEM tyres on my cars. My current car (Focus ST) has the track pack. One of the upgrades this pack gives is Pirelli PZero Corsa tyres. The car has done just over 6k miles and there is about 4mm tread left.
As I understand it, the Corsa is a more track focused tyre, it's highly unlikely my car will ever see a track. The Corsa is also alot more expensive than a standard PZero. I am extremely impressed with how this car handles compared to previous ST's I have owned, however I am not sure if this is down to other track pack upgrades (suspension etc.).
My question is, is the Corsa tyre overkill for normal, occasionally spirited road driving or is it the catalyst that gives the car its excellent handling characteristics?

Assuming you mean a standard P Zero (there are many tyres with P Zero in the name) then I would not use them personally.

They are (in tyre terms) quite an old tyre & there are many better around without going to a track focussed tyre.

Avoid P Zero's as above IME and buy these. Best road tyres I've ever used.
