Recommend insurance company for house that’s had subsidence.
Discussion
Any recommendations on companies that will cover houses that have had subsidence that’s been treated?
My mum had to make a claim for subsidence on her house, unfortunately after the very well known company rectified the works (didn’t underpin it) and dragged out processing it for two years, now that they’ve finished the work they’ve cancelled her insurance. Now struggling to find any companies that will insure her and she’s getting very stressed about it as she isn’t insured (not good at any time but she’s in her 80’s.
Thanks in advance.

We were recently in the same position when our insurers declined renewal. The subsidence claim was 3 years ago.
After many unsucessful attempts to get insurance we found Orwell Insurance Brokers and we are now insured with them.

I hope this helps you

If the subsidence is sorted (e.g. certificate of structural adequacy has been issued) and there is no ongoing mediation plan etc then Lloyds bank will probably insure it on somewhat normal terms. You will pay a premium tho as the subsidence will be insurers db that they share.
