You’ll probably need a customs broker in the final destination.
A carnet should be all you need for countries passed through on the way.
I’d be prepared to pay the vat though. Just because it’s for personal use won’t dodge that over and above any allowances which apply.
I know the vat isn’t required (destination website says so). It’s just what paperwork I need to get through customs at Calais really, as then I’m in the Schengen area A carnet should be all you need for countries passed through on the way.

This FB site i'll add the link to is for people wanting things transported, but I think that if you ask, or search, you will get proper advice.
As far as I know, your personal goods when relocating to the EU are not taxed. Cars however would have to be reregistered and a one off fee is charged based on BHP and age, etc.
We arrived in France pre Brexit so thankfully didn't have any hassle.

I know someone who loaded up her van and trailer and drove it to her home in France, Portsmouth to Cherbourge. Absolutely no repercussions. I was surprised, but it really was that simple.
My friend had a half-truck load of expensive stuff that he had bought before Covid, but trucked to Spain, post-Brexit. He had to produce a detailed inventory and paid a small fee to have it checked, but no duty, or VAT.
