Hello

are solar pumps / sprinklers worth it?

do i need a filter?

any recommendations?

Depends what you mean by 'worth it'.

Get a solar pump/panel that has a built in battery so it will run for longer. Then do whatever you want to do with your pumped water.

My slightly bigger pond has a small waterfall via a solar pump. You won't need a filter but you can set it up to act as a filter if water quality is an issue.

I have one of these:

It will need at least some direct sunlight to charge the battery and the battery will run the pump whilst the sun shines and for a few hours after. It's low power but as I say it depends what you want to do with your pumped water. If you just want a simple fountain or small waterfall then it's fine. Other versions with bigger batteries are available.

Caveat...it will not work during winter (but you're unlikely to be outside to see it anyway).
