Lucky enough to own 2 relatively modern Fezza's both with the same engine in different forms of tune, wife likes the CaliT, I prefer the 88.

Running temps.

The 488, gets up to heat quickly and runs at 80C Water temp and 81C Oil temp

These temperatures are as constant as the Northern Star, I can be sat in heavy traffic, in ambient heat, and the temp will remain the same, maybe climb 1C, maybe, on a run, on a motorway, the temp runs at 80 and 81.

The CaliforniaT, same engine on a run hits 81C Water temp and 89C Engine Oil temp

But here is the thing, when I'm in heavy traffic the temp climbs ....

...to 93C Water temp BUT, "drops", the Engine Oil temp to 85C.

I would have thought they would both have run at a constant temp of 80/81C.

Does everyone else's 3.9V8 run at these temperatures? Or do they vary?

How accurate are the indicated temperatures?

Thanks

I don’t know about the specifics but if you are in traffic it makes sense for the water temp rise as not much air flow is going through radiators. Probably thermostat valve opens up warming the water and cooling the engine as it’s supposed to?

It's wet mode - worth 5C in oil and water temp.

I thought WetMode only affected the Traction and Slip at the back wheels, and bumpy road

I see you keep your car well fuelled but not your wife’s.

My 458 does that too. To sure I’ve noticed the oil temp, but the water moves a fair bit.

M 430 was the same.

Was a surprise first time, as normal cars are just static.
