Any advice on claiming through British cycling?
Hit head on by a car and now need physio and a new bike. Keeping it vague but I have the guys phone number and reg plate but he now seems to be ghosting me. 100% his fault and I have a witness
Is that enough to claim through or do I need to go to the police etc?
About to start the process but just looking for any helpful info from anyone else this has happened to
Thx

Advice from the police is as follows. I would report it to them ASAP.
If you are injured or you suspect that an offence has occurred, you should report the incident to the Police as soon as possible (call 101 or attend at your local station). In case of serious injury or obstruction to the road that cannot be easily cleared, call 999 requesting police/ambulance attendance.
The driver of a motor vehicle must stop and provide their name, address and the name and address of the vehicle owner, together with the vehicle registration number as required by Section 170 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, if they don't they must report the matter to the police. If a driver fails to stop/give details/report the accident, they commit offences. In the event that the driver doesn't stop, note the registration number of any vehicles involved and the details of any additional witnesses before contacting the police.
Additionally, as a cyclist, if it is alleged that you have been cycling without reasonable consideration for other road users, carelessly or dangerously, you must give your name or address to any person who has reasonable grounds for requiring them. If you don't do this or give a false name or address, you commit an offence.

thanks all,
going through BC now. Its weird because I expected to be black and blue all over but very little bruising. just very sore neck and shoulder. Cant lift any weight or my arm above my head due to dislocation but hopefully time will heal that.
More annoyed the weather is nice and I can't do anything. Had some trips planned but thankfully haven't paid for them so don't have the hassle of reclaiming that - just can't do them
. If I get anywhere I'll post an outcome but that may be a while!
