Evening all.

I have a lawn mower with a Honda GV100 engine thst I use for a few customers small gardens.
When warm it shuts down, coil is starting to fail no doubt.
I’ve seen a new one is £253, I can get a new mower for that.
Other mower coils are about £15 to £20, so can anyone recommend a supplier of a new starter coil that is not silly expensive.
Any help would be great, thanks.
Perhaps a cheaper one will do the job, I’m
Looking for exactly the same but perhaps others will work, not to sure.
Cheers.
Dave.

I did think doing that to be fair.

Funnily enough I've just replaced a mower that has a gv100 engine. Though the straw that broke the rusty POS's back was that it started cutting out when hot biggrin

If its the same coil you can have it for free, but I wouldn't be confident it's not similarly broken.

Hi.
Sounds like the same problem, they only last about 3 to 5 years before they need replacing.
Where abouts are you located.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply, it’s probably the same problem to be honest.
I’m going to ring around tomorrow to see if there is an alternative coil that will work, Will see how I get on.
Thanks again.
Dave.

I think pretty much any similar coil fed the right voltage and trigger will work - the only difference is going to be the mounting and that isn't exactly rocket science to resolve
