Do companies have to state origin?
Discussion
I thought there was a law that said companies had to put the country of origin on goods. 'Made in Belgium' etc.
How do companies like https://www.londons-finest.com/ get away with not saying their products come from China?

Edit: and with good reason, now I think about it. I’ve bought the same T-shirt from the same brand, and some have been made in Turkey, others in Vietnam or elsewhere. That’s with (on the face of it) identical items. If you’re operating at the scale where you have factories dotted here and there, you couldn’t realistically state on a website “made in X”.

The order hasn't arrived yet. What I did get today was an 'Order has been sent' e-mail which led to this:Doofus said:
The fact that delivery is 5 to 10 working days tells you all you need to know.
It does now, but I don't recall seeing that at the time of ordering. Anyway, it's not that critical and let's hope the goods meet expectations.About 10 years ago at a county show I bought some jumpers from Woolovers. They were great, so when they wore out I found them online and bought some more. But now, despite beautiful photos of sheep in the Yorkshire Dales, they're made in Cambodia and bobble like hell. Checking back at their website now we get this:

Lovely. But on another link: https://www.woolovers.com/page/responsible-sourcin...

Interesting that Woolovers have now fessed up and are making the fact they buy cheap tat from cheap countries into a 'sustainability/supporting poor people' ethical theme park.

I get the frustration but respectfully I think this is a case of "if it looks like a duck and quacks".
I don't think you're buying "London's finest" or stuff made in the UK for those prices.
I also tend to look at T&Cs of a company as that usually shows the legal entity I'm dealing with.

Yep, like so many 'businesses' these days it's simply a shed for imports with a shiny website and slick marketing.I don't think you're buying "London's finest" or stuff made in the UK for those prices.

It means that I could, if I wished, start a business called 'Exquisite Parisian Jewellery' and put some photos of the Eiffel Tower on a website, but actually sell tat from Romford market...
