My son has secured a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship with the University of Sheffields 'Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre'. It seems to be quite highly thought of in its industry. Anyone got any experience with them?

Certainly they have close links to the "best" engineering companies in the UK like Rolls Royce Plc. And are very well thought of..

He previously passed the AMRC interview for them to accept him for training, and he has just passed an interview with an employer to secure his apprenticeship.

I hear good things about AMRC and we are obviously pleased to bits for him, but I have no personal knowledge of AMRC or what his training will entail. He surely knows more than me but being a teenager he doesn't always enlighten me
