Hi guys,

My first post so apologies if it’s the wrong place.

My father is retired and 80 years old, he wants a new VW polo but to get the dealer contribution would have to take out the PCP deal which he is happy to do.

Would VW actually give a retired 80 year old a PCP plan and what would be required to get this from a main dealer?
On top of the usual credit checks would he need to provide banks statements etc?

He can afford it all comfortably but obviously always nice to get another grand off!

Anybody actually done it at that age or know somebody that has?
Plenty of third party rip off companies would of course but anybody had issues from a main dealer?

Thanks.

Yes absolutely, I have just completed a PCP for my Mum and she was 83 when taking the finance. I understand they are not allowed to be ageist, it was on a BMW and they will enter into the PCP until the person is 85.

But at 85 they can discriminate!

I see no issue if the down payment covers the ‘drive out the door’ depreciation.

Alternatively take out the loan and get the dealer contribution then pay off the loan within 30 days ?

Several other things use that age as a limit, like car hire and holiday insurance for instance.
