Looking for a Cayenne - which one?
Discussion
Morning all
Having run a RR alongside a Cayman R I decided to go down to one car, as I rarely drove the Cayman, which I sold a couple of weeks ago. Tried a Macan GTS first. It drove brilliantly, but I think I wasn't something a little bigger so have settled on a Cayenne, or just maybe a diesel Audi SQ8
I test drove a base model and was surprised by the performance to be honest, to the extent I wonder if its worth bothering with S (6 cylinder rather than 8) ? Similarly is the E-hybrid with a look.
I know its fairly personal choice but any must have spec? I'm quite keen on extended leather and heated steering wheel, but beyond that I'm not too fussy
I've been looking at 20-21 cars, but I believe the infotainment stuff gets a lot better in 2022?
Thanks guys

There’s a surprising amount of “must have” spec depending on what you like…stuff which is a pretty basic level on most cars like dimming mirrors. I’d 100% agree on the leather
Upgraded sound Bose is the norm, some cars have Burmeister.
Panoramic Roof (I think very difficult to sell without this)
Roof Rails (if you think you’ll need a roof box at any stage)
Air suspension
Don’t go too big on wheels (impacts ride)
14 or 18 way seats
Adaptive Cruise. Heated Steering wheel etc are extras

Having had most versions of the Cayenne since they were first launched, the eHybrid seems a good compromise in today's world. The 3.0D was a great car and had several but now the hybrid suits us very well. Get about 25miles on electric alone and with the options to run in hybrid mode, or save electric for low emission zones etc.
Cheib has mentioned the key options already, upgraded matrix lights are a nice to have as well.
