Right then, who can identify the stripped down car behind Mr Duford's left shoulder? I can't, I'm horrified to say. Is it an Aston?

Could be, but looked a bit fat and bulbous and sitty-uppy to my eye to be an E-Type.

Agreed, possibly V12' judging by the visible wheel.

Case closed then, although the rear arch looks a little thinner than the V12 pictured here?

That is 100% a series 3 E-Type

Thanks all, I'm not much of a pre-70s car fan, nor much of a Jag fan, and never really liked the E Type much, hence my not recognising it I suppose.

I think it's the light and the colour (primer) not showing the lines of the car.

It's 100% an E-Type.

Seriously wondering if that Series 3 E Type is my Late Dads one.
His car was Silver, Navy interior, someone had hacked a hideous Webasto into its roof, plus it was on the same chrome pressed wheels and possibly the same Dunlop SP Sports, when it was last on the road in the late 1980s. Dad’s car was sold at auction as a non runner needing restoration in 2015 and has not been put back on the road since.

Anyone know the name of this resto company ?

That's because the V12 E-Type was a bit bulbous. It put on weight from its days as a youth!
