My 2010 Triumph Street Triple has a crack on the manifold - I've been told by a exhaust fabricator that the steel is all brittle at the top, so if its fixed it will crack elsewhere. Triumph want £1k for a new one (for a bike worth about £3k but with only 5,000 miles on it its a tough decision!), presumably all others of this vintage will have similar issues and I can't see any other company making new manifolds (the later models have oval exhaust ports, whereas mine are round). Any suggestions appreciated.

I’d be surprised if someone like Arrow wouldn’t make headers for that bike?

You'd have thought so - as they sold aftermarket exhausts when new. However they don't list anything on their site - I've emailed. Delkavic I've tried but don't make them.

They do them for the 2013 on, is there a huge difference??

Try Lextek or Black Widow.

Surprised Arrow doesn't do it mind you, aren't they the official Triumph partner??

Check the part number for header on Triumph parts site, it could be other Triumph models of that era use the same headers, then just search on that model for stainless headers.

I had same issue on my Trophy, a search for stainless headers for it didn't turn any up. But a search for Explorer headers of same year and there were a few options. Both models shared same engine just in a different tune, Explorer headers are the same as the Trophy.

Otherwise you could ask one of the exhaust manufacturers like Delkevic if they will make you some

Or you look for a good used part on ebay....

They went from a round exhaust port to a oval one. Loads of oval ones for sale!

Good idea. However I think only the Daytona and Street Triple used that generation of 675 engine - there is one daytona system on ebay, but its clearly different as it has some kind of valve before the catalytic converter.

Black widow don't make them either. Looks like its 150-300 to 'fix it' but the rest of the metal is likely to crack in future, wait until something comes on ebay and spend whatever is needed for a used system or £1k for a new one. I'm loath to just wait as I want to get back to biking. At least you can guarantee some sun whilst my bike is off the road.

This one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226435933535

If they'll fit the valve won't cause you any bother, just disconnect the actuator and ignore it.

Hi, if done so already try Martin at Max Torque Cans. I got good service off them a couple of years ago when I was looking for replacement headers for my 03 R6. I believe they have a lot of good quality used OE exhausts and headers in stock plus they also manufacture headers for a lot of bikes. I have no affiliation with them, but I had a similar problem to you and after trying lots of other places without any luck they were able to get things sorted for me.

I had sort of a similar problem, my track 675 headers cracked at the balancers. I'd sold my Street a few months before, I actually had a spare header for the street, for whatever reason my Dad said to the buyer to take it, he was just there in the background as well. I had to call up the new owner and buy the fking headers back. I'll still remember his words 'they're worth more to you than me'. I had a race that weekend and he knew I was desperate.

I ended up getting the round ports cut off from the Daytona and welding them on to the streets oval headers. If you find one in decent condition on eBay and its not the correct ports its an option.

It might be worth giving them a call, I see they're selling a lot of later port model headers for the Street and Daytona 675. They might do you a new set for the earlier model. Especially if you can send them yours as a template and wait for it coming back.

Delkevic have their exhausts made in China, doubt they'll make a one off or for a 'rare' model.

Ah fair enough, I just saw the Newcastle base and assumed wrongfully.

Delkavic, Black Widow, Arrow, Lextech and Max Torque have all confirmed they don't do it. I think its a call between £2-300 on fixing the existing part with a new balancing pipe or £833 (from Fowlers) on a brand new part (T2203258).
Wikipedia claims that the 2013 Daytona engine is more 'compact', so I'd be surprised if you could cut the round ports off the old exhaust and weld them to a oval header. As the catalytic converter is part of the round manifold and not the oval manifold itd suggest more work being needed at which point I may as well buy the new part! The other option is to buy a beaten up arrow system on ebay and see whether that can be cut into the

Depending how accessible it is for welding, I'd just weld it

Worry about it cracking again if it does - it's not like it's a sump biggrin

Welding has been estimated at £150, but the crack is almost all the way around. However as the metal is brittle it'll just crack again. I've probably ridden the bike for a year or more with the crack, however I really don't want to have to do the work again (especially getting studs out the head). I'd rather pay more and reduce the risk of doing it twice.

Fair enough, I have a local guy who would weld an accessible crack for £10

In that case I'd just buy a used one - they don't all crack
