Welcome to Japan and what a race we have in prospect. Who needs an F1 movie when you have Tsunoda’s move to Red Bull at his home grand prix?

I think he’ll do ok (he’ll make Q2) but that will be incidental to the hype. Rather wonderfully, Red Bull have somehow managed to engineer a situation in which they can only lose: if Tsunoda does well, why was he turned down in favour or Lawson? If he does poorly, Red Bull have clearly designed a car for Max and no-one else.

Other than the Red Bull show, McLaren should drive away from everyone else in the race but qualifying might be tricky. One crumb of comfort for Red Bull and Mercedes is that Pirelli is bringing its hardest compounds which those cars seem to like. Ferrari? Place your bets.

Who will win? I think Piastri has already got Norris rattled. Who am I watching? Tsunoda. Come on Yuki!

Here’s to a great race.

Thanks PiaP!

Rock on for another round of tight racing. Hope Yuki debuts well in the second RBR and doesn't get banned for his pitlane English!

What a difference a week makes!

Last week it was all about Lewis and Ferrari, this week it’s Yuki and Red Bull.

Really want to see the Ferrari’s go well and would be lovely to see Yuki tame the second Red Bull.

Of course, all eyes will be on Yuki.

I do wonder if Yuki is significantly slower in the Red Bull than his old Racing Bull, where does that leave the team? If the Racing Bull is proved to be faster than Red Bull, should Max think about moving? (I suspect they'd actually just repaint the white cars dark blue)

It should be an interesting weekend.

Thanks PiaP! beer

In an unusual turn of events, across several of the F1 threads I don't recall anybody putting forward bad feelings towards Yuki...is the PH F1 collective actually aligned in feelings of good faith towards a driver?

Will all that power, finally harnessed in one direction, be enough to turn the clocks forward by two hours this weekend?! Stay tuned to find out...

If they did basically turn Racing Bulls into Red Bull I think that would be the final straw and they would end up having to sell one, with everyone else threatening to leave if action isn’t taken. So I doubt they would go there.

Voted for Piastri, he just seems to have a cool a calm head when it comes to the full race distance. As much as i'd like Yuki to do well I cant see him finishing well in his first race in a largly unfamiliar car with the added pressure the RBR 2nd seat comes with.
Suzuka is one of my favourite tracks, would love to visit for the race at some point.

One of the great circuits, hope we get a good show involving Max being nowhere near the podium.

There is absolutely no way that Yuki is going to win. Get a grip, everyone!
