Initial ones that spring to mind are:

Porsche Inspections - https://www.porscheinspections.com/ (these guys are mobile which helps)
JZM
RPM Technik (a little further out)

GT One I think tends to have quite a good rep and should be close-ish...? Otherwise perhaps you might consider Porsche Brooklands as well. Going a bit further opens up plenty of other choices....

I was after my first Porsche last year (997.2 Carrera S). Nick Giles did 2 inspections for me, first one was a rust bucket, possibly needing thousands spent to restore, the second is in my garage. Great service, reasonably priced and gave me the confidence to spend what was a huge amount for me.

Good luck!

I'd find someone who can do the inspection on a ramp (which the roadside inspections typically can't/don't)

GT One in Chertsey is a good West (of) London option. Also Charles Ivey in Surbiton.

And another post on here just reminded me about Tognola in Datchet.

All would do a perfectly good PPI. I've also found speaking to specialists who've recently worked on the car in question to be extremely helpful (with the seller's agreement)

He was great to deal with, happened to be at the dealer the same day (yesterday) so was able to do the inspection without any travel costs, we had a long conversation about the car as he drove home, and the report was with me by midday (and a deposit has been placed smile)
Can’t really fault him.

Getting a car inspected on a ramp is preferable.
I used GT One a few years ago for inspecting a 996 turbo. They were very good.

I used 9e in Horley before buying my car, a full report was given but you do have to take the car to them, still owned 5 years later

Excellent as long as you know that the car has not been inspected properly.

No car, let alone a low sport car can be inspected thoroughly at ground level.

I genuinely hope the car is great and you are pleased smile

Which means what exactly? He's asking for recommendations, I gave Nick's details from my personal (great) experience dealing with him. I've not heard anything untoward on here/facebook/911UK...

Ah, ok sad to see. As I said, both my inspections were done properly, the first one even had wet underseal in an attempt to hide corrosion (for sale by a 'reputable' guy on here), and quite a few other fairly serious corrosion issues. The second was at a dealer and on ramps for the inspection, his words were 'probably the best one I've seen this year' back in September. It's since been looked at by the Classic manager at Porsche Leeds who agreed it's in very good, clean condition. So I have no issue recommending him.
