Civic '09 hard suspension? - noise
Discussion
Got an interesting one for you..
2009 Civic, 1.8 i-VTEC ES, 90k miles in very good condition inside and outside.
I test drove the think and engine, clutch, steering felt great - clearly had been looked after and logbook entries are not made up.
Over the course of recent history no issues with any of the suspension components etc. based on MOTs.
Seems great - BUT! - going over almost any unevenness in road surface at generally low speed and you get massive thumps as if the damn thing was about to fall apart - so annoying.
I know this is a 16yo car but I've never heard anything like this.
I can try to get a vid on this in next few days.
What could it be and where to start on inspection? I'm thinking to take it to a local garage but don't want them to tell me it needs strip down and new suspension as this would not be entertaining.

Thanks for input.
I forgot to record a video, but I actually sat in the car in passenger side this time and its strange how different (quieter) the noise was. Not that it couldn't be heard but it was just not as harsh.
Droplinks are inspected as part of MOTs aren't they? I suppose they would check for play on joints, not just see if they look ok?
Thanks!
