So after faffing with lots of other stuff on the 993 it's now driveable again after over a year, happy days
However, it desperately needs the alignment I was referring to in this previous thread...

I've got it booked in at Porsche Marbella, so I'm now taking bets on how much they think they can charge me for a 4 wheel alignment. Labour rate is 160€ + VAT (25% more expensive than the nearby Ferrari main dealer!)
I don't think they've clocked that it's a 993 rather than a modern one, so is there anything I should be emphasising before I give it to them? I'm aware of the kinematic toe setting, and I've got the required specs from Centre Gravity for the whole thing which they kindly re-provided after 10 years, but if there's a way for it to be ballsed up, I guarantee you they'll find it (the Ferrari dealer tried to charge me 10+ hours labour to diagnose a faulty MAF...).
Out of interest, do modern 911s have kinematic toe as well?

There appears to be one other Porsche specialist in Marbella, have emailed them but no response yet. Issue down here is that you have to be proper moneyed by spanish standards to afford anything resembling a 911 of any flavour. So there are very few about, and of the few that you do see, they're almost always modern ones. So very few specialists in general.
In 4 years here I think I've only seen one or two 993s in the wild apart from mine

What about the Scottish mechanic in Marbella? If he is still in business or perhaps his daughter has taken over. He used to employ several ex Porsche mechanics
I thought the same..https://www.englishmobilemechanics.com/index.php

Any actually competent service provider will be able to align a 993 to factory spec.
I would not at all assume an OPC will do a better job for this kind of thing. The opposite, if anything.
That's not what I've been told by Center Gravity and others on here (and seen on other forums). From what I understand 993s are the only 911 that has Kinematic Toe adjustment, and it requires a special tool to measure/set. If you don't have the tool and know what you're doing, you can't do it, and only garages that are familiar with 993s will (may) have it. If you can't do the Kinematic Toe, then on the rear wheels you're limited to only safely adjusting the toe in, if I recall what CG told me over the phone yesterday.
