I normally sell my old bikes through eBay but when I tried to list an ebike yesterday it said that wasn't permitted.

I have two used ebikes to sell, looking for a grand each. Where is the best place to advertise?

I looked on eBay and there are loads of E bikes for sale. Weird that you weren’t able to list yours.

"No private sales: Private sales of e-bikes are prohibited due to fire safety concerns."

Could post them in tje marketplace forum on PH, doesn’t cost anything. I am interested to see what these e bikes are.

I've never used it. Will it be a better experience that FB Marketplace?

I doubt it.

Facebook will be the best place. People look for local stuff, which as you're not going to ship eBikes is a bonus.
You might get a bunch of people trying it on with stupid offers and time wasting, but I've had no bother selling (and buying) bikes and bits on there.

You are probably right that there are more people on FB, but if like me you cannot bear to use it then Gumtree can be quite effective. It's my go to for getting rid of stuff locally that is either low value or too big/heavy to ship.

I have never tried to sell anything as valuable as an e-bikeon it however.

I don't see much difference between FB and Gumtree in terms of chancers, but FB gets a lot more traffic in my experience.
TBH I've not had a bad experience on either, apart from people who forget to delete their advert after they have sold the item.

One is a nearly new kids hardtail E-Bike with a Yamaha mid drive. The other is an older BMW E-Bike with Bosch mid drive, also hardtail.
