Good morning gentlemen. Today a car came in reverse and broke my license plate holder and a small scratch on my nose. Do you know how much the plastic portstarga can cost? Do you sell official or aftermarket Aston Martin? I don't need to save the expenses are on him. Today I get the Italian plates because my v8 is Spanish. If I decide to remove that plastic door late how to attach the plates to the nose of the v8? I found a post but it's old and the photos are not for sale. Thanks for the help

You could just take off the broken one and not fit another, many don't use the front mounting for the number plate.

It looks so much better without it, I wrapped the bars it attaches too so the holes can’t be seen, but the plate sitting lower is so much better balanced imo
I used the two lower holes in the bumper from the holder to screw the plate on.

Thank you for your support. I'm thinking of removing the front license plate. With the Lotus s1 I was without a rear for 6 years. Here is a small town we all know each other.

You could fit an Aston Martin surround. You can either buy the Aston Martin works version or go for a cheaper one (like I did). They are still available on Fleabay for £19.99 for two (see https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326167942552?chn=ps&amp...

Sorry about the long URL!

Here is a pic of mine as fitted to the back. I can't photograph the front at the moment as it is too close to the door.

In this instance the number plate holder did its job and protected the bumper from damage. Seems a bit daft to remove it just to make the car look worse - and gluing a number plate to the paintwork looks cheap and unfinished.

I think many see the front number plate mount as worse to look at rather than better hence, why you see so many VH platformed cars having had it removed. Personally, I think it looks a much cleaner and there is no gluing, it just gets held with double sided tape, being easy to remove without damage to the paint.

AM have seen fit not to blemish the gen 2 and current new Vantage with the a large plastic mount for the front number plate.

You are right though, on this occasion, it seems the holder has been sacrificial rather than the slatted grill or front bumper being damaged.

The number plate plinth has done its job, its designed to take a 5mph bump in the car park without damaging the bodywork.

I dont know if the Italian plinth is same size as UK , but there must be many plinths in boxes in garages in the UK as so many are taken off. I havnt had one since I brought the car home first day ....as already mentioned, some double sided thick tape and a smaller plate does the trick thumbup
