UK Motorcycle Racing Events - Groups to ride/attend with?

Morning all,

I’m hoping to get myself to a number of races this year around the UK and nearby. Looking at the dates, I’m thinking I’ll be able to get to 3-4 BSB weekends, WSB or MotoGP weekend, the IoM TT and I’d really like to do the NW200 in NI, which is pretty soon.

Very few of my mates ride, and those who do aren’t hugely into racing.

Question is, are there many PHers here who regularly attend race weekends and would be interested convoying/ meeting up at these events?

Any existing groups that do this?

Any advice much appreciated!

As my wife would say, you're never alone on a motorcycle. We always tended to find folk to talk to at the racing - especially the TT as so many people are there for the first time. But we are the sort of folk who go up and talk to anyone. This is partly because very few of my offline friends are into motorcycles and are able to come to the racing!

I went to the NW200 on my own last year from NE Scotland. I drove over in the van with the bike in the back and used the bike when I was in NI.

I really enjoyed it and everywhere I stopped, be it to watch racing or just for a break enjoying the scenery, people always stopped and spoke.

I ended up chatting to a couple at Mathers Cross and we've kept in touch, they offered a bed if I was to return this year. As it stands I'm not but thats just an example of the type of people you can meet.
