We've finished the extension, we've just finished remodelling the patio and garden, so now need somewhere tidy to put spare chairs and cushions away from the rain, and to hide the bins so they don't make the place look untidy.
(and importantly get a lot of our garden st out of my garage! biggrin )

...except every review I read of garden storage has people bemoaning QC and damaged/mis-built parts, or customer service problems when they encounter QC issues, or shocking assembly headaches. Or all 3.

So who/what would (or wouldn't?) you recommend...without spending a fortune?
Wife would prefer plastic/composite over wood, and I'm on the fence about the longevity of metal.

Thanks all,
M.

We went with a Keter Oakland shed about 5 years ago, it's plastic and the instructions were detailed but very clear. I ordered a replacement clasp last year and it was sent FOC so I'd say customer support is good. They have a big range of storage options.

The shed has needed zero maintenance and still looks good.

Our local garden center has a big range of storage bunkers & sheds, all of them a step up from the flimsy stuff the DIY sheds sell. The best deals are end of year clearance sales but it's the wrong end of the season for that.

When I have finished my patio I am going to get one of these for storage on the patio https://topwoodgardenbuildings.co.uk/garden-sheds/...

I have a 4foot by 8 foot sectional metal shed down the side of the garage. I remember it was awful to build, sharp edges etc, but it's been there now for over 10 years and still good.

We've a Keter shed and two of their "trunk" storage boxes. All well made and easy to assemble. Similar experience from Keter on a slightly damaged part; quickly replaced without aggro.

I've some Keter cupboards that I've had for maybe 15 years now and would agree with the posters above that they're good enough quality to last.

However, they are fugly. Like, properly gopping. I've used them as workshop and garage storage. I wouldn't personally choose to have them in a garden if they can be seen.

If the storage is going to be on show then I'd contemplate an actual shed and whether a basic one can be made to look a little smarter with some paint and better quality roof etc

For the very same purpose, we went with an 8x4 pent roofed shed from these guys https://www.ajsectional.com/

£900 delivered and built. Really good quality and great service. We previously had a summer house from them a few years ago and were impressed.

Another vote for Keter here. We've got one large basic store that we've had for at least 15 years now, gets full sun but is still the same colour and not gone brittle at all. We've also got two large chests from their signature range more expensive but much better looking.
