Old full two hour John Peel shows have recently popped up on my YouTube feed and have to say listening to them has been fantastic.

Also Festive Fifty choices have been interesting with the sudden change at the time of Punk tunes taking over from traditional 'Rock' stuff that people voted as the best tunes ever.

Here's a cracker from my youth: October 1979 with a session from Stiff Little Fingers and "a new single from Joy Division".

Oh, that's interesting, I've got a couple of tunes that I recorded from his show decades ago and I've no idea who they were by, and searching on the lyrics as I can remember them has come up with nothing. I wonder if I'll get round to listening to a load just in case I drop on them.

Excellent thanks for posting John Peel played the best music.
While we're on the subject, does anyone remember a song by 'the Fall' called 'Show Your Teeth'?

Sideline, I couldnt believe he was present at the press conference of Lee Harvey Oswald shortly after the shooting of JFK. What a fascinating life he lead. His son has/had a show on R6 too I believe.

I remember watching a Old Grey Whistle test in 1980 with early Stiff Little Fingers and an unknown band called U2!

No better than Savile in my eyes. Another one protected from the BBC.
