Hi All - quick one ... was there a Factory special edition F430 called a carbon edition? Just talking to an owner the other day...he was convinced there was and said there's a plaque on the airbag and everything!

Thanks,
J.

First I've heard, has he sent you any pictures of this mysterious beast?

Hi ya - thanks. No, I've not either but then I'm new to the Ferrari arena. It has a Scud type stripe running over it, anthracite painted wheels and I did see the plaque he mentioned...bit of a strange place on the airbag! I remember thinking I didn't think the factory would put one there!

This one on eBay? I saw that the other week.

Looks like a Halfords special as does the Scuderia sticker on the back. F430s came with a carbon driving zone as an option (which didn't always include the steering wheel) which this one seems to have. Not unusual at all, most have it. Yer man is talking out of his hoop.

The ad is somewhat over optimistic on a couple of things. That is not a (430) Scuderia spec, one stripe doesn't not make a legendary car. Lights are not adaptive, power is 483 not 500 (small point admittedly but disingenuous all the same). I was also curious about the 2008 reg but with steel brakes, it's a 07 car registered in 08 but the ad does say that.

It's quite a nice looking car as it goes. Just remove the silly stickers!

Description says Ceramic brakes but in the pic of the wheel they look like steel discs. Looks like some optimistic advertising. Shame

Ceramic brakes were standard from late 2007, most likely the seller has just copied stuff verbatim from somewhere, the usual laziness of someone who knows bugger all about these cars. Those don't look like steels, they ARE steels.

No, there wasn't. Just like there wasn't a "60th Anniversary Edition" - that was just an update to the dash plaque.

The 430 could be ordered with a 'dedication plate' but it replaced the F430 plaque at the top of the dash.

Plaque in photo is an owner addition.

Not the smartest move in the world if you think about where they've put it.

The stripes dont look bad at all ! Actually looks a nice example bar the exagerrated/chavvy style of advert
