Can anyone recommend anything? Lots available but I'm looking for the smallest possible that will live outdoors.

Is it a sous vide bath for, say, a whole sheep?

We have this one https://wildwaterspas.co.uk/shop/blue-abyss-3-pers...

Pretty cheap to run although we don’t use it over the winter.

Picture in-situ for a idea of size

I'm happy enough with my £300 Lay-z-Spa. It's officially a 6 person model but id say can squeeze 4 and comfortable for 2-3 (if you are into that hehe)
The capacity seems to be judged by everyone in a sitting position and having no legs so be careful of the headline numbers.
The benefit of these is that they run off a 13A plug and obviously much cheaper than a full on hard sided model.

Personally I'd be trying one of these for a year or two to see how much use it gets then decide if you use it enough and can stomach the running costs. I bought a homemade WiFi module off eBay which allows me to schedule the heat to be on mainly during my cheap EV charging hours but if on a normal electricity tariff they can get very costly. Also not much fun in the wind and rain!

But the inflatable
Ones are cheap Capex, high OPEX, and don’t have the real jets of a proper spa.
Blowing air through hot water is a rather odd solution

We went Jacuzzi.

We bought a small lazy spa from Homebase, it lasted 2 days before we took it back. Homebase had more returns than they had sold in the Broadstairs branch, crap pumps I believe, the wife wanted another one, so we bought a £10000 one from hot springs in Ashford, I have been in it once, a complete waste of money. It's a 7 seater, I don't know 7 people who would want to go in this thing. Op don't waste your money.

How is that a 3-person unit - looks less than 1m wide internally?

Not intended as a dig at Barryrs, looks fine for a couple but just curious where the manufacturer anticipates the 3rd person to sit!

Not to detract from the OP's question, but wonder how often these things get used?

Several years ago, we bought a house that had a very expensive high-end hot-tub installed by the previous owner.

After a thorough cleansing, I was in it 3-5 times a week for the first month, but the novelty wore off fast and in the 18months we owned the place I reckon I went in it about 30-40 times, all of which except 1 or 2 were in the first 6 months.

I like hot-tubs, will actively filter properties with them when looking for holiday accommodation but if I had one full time it would never get used .

Bit like Limoncello, tastes different in Italy than it does when you are sitting in your back garden.

A PH user has previously posted about his own venture building wood fired ones.

We have a lay z spa st moritz i think its called, supposed to be a 6 person but there is no way id want to be in there with 5 others.
Perfect size for me the missus and the daughter though.
I think i worked out it was costing at least £3 a day to keep it turned on 24/7 these days so it only gets put on for the weekend sometimes. Filters and chlorine managing can be a pita and extra cost but its not extreme.
I do like it but would get rid of it tomorrow if my daughter did not love it so much, a good quality item though and very easy to set up.

In my view it’s not a 3 person but I guess they call it that as technically someone can sit upright in one corner. It’s the perfect size for two average sized adults, so a larger couple might struggle.

Yes, we have one of these: https://www.shorpehottubs.co.uk/product/bliss-...

( hmm ok it, it doesn’t like the link but should be clear)

We’ve had tubs for over 20 years. At the last house we had an all singing and dancing 6 person one but the reality was that there was ever 2 of us in it. We have this as a 13A supply, it costs £50/60 a month to run 365 days a year.

During Covid we had the use of a lazy spa for a while, we quite liked it so we bought a proper 3 seater similar to this, they tend not to make 2 seaters as far as I know.

We like it,it’s not horrendously expensive to run and easy to keep the levels right with bromine.
