Any recommendations for power banks? It's mainly required to support two iPads during a longish flight if required so ideally want USB-C output (two would be great but not a dealbreaker), enough capacity to top up the iPads and be acceptable for the airline - they state under 100Wh.

Won't the seat backs have charging ports? If you really want one then Anker are reliable but beware that the big ones can be surprisingly heavy:

27,000 mAh is the limit you can take on board without permission.

I thought I read somewhere that you can't take power banks on aircraft now. SIL had his taken from him at Auckland when he was on his way back to UK.

I can find reference to Singapore Airlines & Thai Air banning the USE of them, but not to any ban on carrying them on board.

We're flying with Jet2, I don't remember them having charging sockets last time but I'll check.

Quick google suggests some Asian carriers have now banned using or charging power banks during flights. Jet2's website does say you can take and use up to 100Wh, between that and 160Wh requires pre-approval.

Just depends on the plane, and age. Quite unusual NOT to have USB charging now, even in economy

I've flown with mine frequently. Often airlines will state a max of 2 in hand luggage (which seems reasonable!). Mine's an Anker 20,000mAh with built-in cable - you wouldn't go wrong with that. The built-in USB-C cable is a godsend. (It also has other sockets for charging multiple devices).

I bought this one in Jan - been abroad with it twice now and no issues with it in hand-luggage (BA to Turkey & SA if that's important), charges an item a LOT quicker than the USB on the plane...

Easyjet didn't allow us to charge in flight with them on our flight last month.
