What to check for on GT4 PDK purchase
Discussion
I am looking at a 2022 PDK GT4 from an independent dealer. Car does have full OPC history, just the single service + brake fluids at 2k miles. There is no Porsche warranty although I will be looking to get that in place.
Is there anything that I should be looking for when inspecting? I can’t get the 111 point check done for 90 days and there is a dealer warranty, but don’t know what value this is.
Thanks

I bought my GT4 via an independent, I asked them to put into to an OPC for 111 check which they were happy to do. East London Porsche was local to them. It passed. As I wanted put the car on extended warranty I had to go to the OPC to do the paperwork. They wouldn’t allow the car to go back to the independent without the warranty applied. Had it done so, another 111 point check would have been required. Porsche rules but I didn’t have to wait 90 days to get it all done.Is there anything that I should be looking for when inspecting? just make sure it's >£5k less than an OPC car then. Is it a early 2022 car ? Is there anything that I should be looking for when inspecting? I can’t get the 111 point check done for 90 days and there is a dealer warranty, but don’t know what value this is.

You can pay for a 111 check any time you like btw.
Is the car dealer owned or SOR ?
Is it a well know Porsche indy ?
Have you seen it yet ?

Current price is what I managed to get OPC car down so would expect at least 3k from where it is.You can pay for a 111 check any time you like btw.

So dealer takes to Porsche, they check and I take it with warranty from there?
no it's just a check, you cannot have warranty for 3 months and you will have to pay for another check in 3 months time and then pay for a warranty.I would NOT buy a Porsche from a back street none Porsche indy myself, not worth the hassle.

I would tend to agree, but it does also limit the pool. Dealer has a superb amount of stock and some serious kit at that. While I appreciate that means very little in terms of individual cars, I would like to think it means something.I would NOT buy a Porsche from a back street none Porsche indy myself, not worth the hassle.

Mine was checked and warranty the following week while the car remained at the OPC. No 3 month wait.
lucky i guess. or was that a SOR car. You can do a SOR car straight away.Depends what checks they do.

in my experience no, one first has to ask how did they get a Porsche GT car, most sell to Porsche indy or then Ashgoods or part ex back to their OPC for good will etc.And then what happens if you get a PADM error on the way home at £1300 a pop.
As a buyer you get more protection these days, but for the hassle the car has to be priced MUCH cheaper, no back up , no warranty etc.
IF the spec and price is right, your best bet is a proper inspection by a Porsche know inspection company, the 111 check is worthless anyway imho the checks are rubbish.
may as well post the car up now for a look see.
With a few exceptions, if buying through most independents I'd want a Porsche 111 point check before buying.
I was close to buying an 18 month old 1 owner GTS 4.0 from an independent dealer a couple of months ago. Still with half the manufacturers warranty remaining but I wasn't happy with panel alignment. The dealer was insistent it had never been damaged and agreed to get the Porsche inspection and report back to me. I'm pretty sure it would not have passed inspection but I never heard back from them and a week later it had disappeared from their website. Given I'd made a 7 hour round trip to view the car and multiple calls and emails with them, I can only conclude it didn't pass the inspection or they didn't want to take the risk of getting it inspected and did a deal with someone else to offload it.

Has the factory warranty expired? If registered in march '22 it will expire this month - you might have a few days left depending on exact reg date. I would expect it easier to apply an extended warranty onto the back of a factory warranty, if it hasn't already expired.
Expired unfortunately, only by a few days and has been transferred over to dealer so not possible for previous owner to do extension.I'd echo the sentiments above. Don't buy without OPC warranty even if it's only for a few months. I bought a GTS 4.0 last year. Not long after it developed an engine fault. Spent 3 months at Porsche, engine out, full strip down, new cylinder head, cams etc. Would've been an absolutely horrendous bill. New engine is apparently c.£40k without fitting. Opened my eyes to the value of dealer warranty on cars like these.

I have agreed in principal that an inspection would be required, but it is still their preferred supplier in that sense, although I do intend to instruct them myself.

Some colourful feedback on these guys in the Emira forum...I have agreed in principal that an inspection would be required, but it is still their preferred supplier in that sense, although I do intend to instruct them myself.
