Hello all, in Scottish law can anyone explain when it would be best to reserve the right rather than discharge a claim on inheritance when no will is in place? Thanks for any help.
I should add this is not in place of legal assistance I just want to get an insight!

Is there uncertainty around the estate?

By reserving your right, you keep open the possibility of adjusting your claim later when more information is available about the estate, rather than finalising it based on potentially incomplete data.
