I had £4000 in a help to buy ISA which I had to use not for a deposit. I have £12k in another account from saving for a house does anyone know if I can add the 12k into the h2b isa to obtain the government 25%? The account has been opened for 5 years this month so would have the max amount possible paid in

not sure if its possble to have/use both a help to buy ISA and a lifetime ISA at the same time.

or if its possible to port the h2b isa to a lisa then deposit to the LISA. LISA is 25% upto 4k which can be done at in 1 month with the 1k bonus paid the following

What would happen if you deposited more than £200 at a time? I have a maxed out HTB ISA into which I paid £200/month but there was no mechanism to stop me paying more than that in at a time. Is it that you can pay more in but you'll only qualify for the benefit on a sum equal to the total of £200 multiplied by the number of months you've been paying in?

I thought I’d read somewhere about not being able to use the LISA within a certain amount of months of the account being opened?

The account needs to have been open a year IIRC

It was a number of years ago now but I tried to deposit more into mine once and it simply wouldn't let you.
