Can anyone recommend a OBD2 scanner that can diagnose things like bad abs/asr sensors and which one as well as other stuff like esp, asr etc but all for sensible money?
I’m don’t really want to pay much more than £100….

Make sure it can also erase codes. Had one years ago that couldn't erase airbag codes even though it could read them.
I'm looking at getting one round the £100 mark myself.
Found a Launch crp123 on eBay for around £110, contacted them about it being able to erase airbag and abs codes and they confirmed it could.
Haven't bought it yet though so can't actually tell you whether it's any good but seen some good reviews on them.

Have a nosey around on here, and if you're unsure Email them.

https://www.gendan.co.uk/

The website is very Y2K, but they're full on professional grade retailers. Tell them what you drive, and your requirements and they'll give you thier advice. My partner bought one for her early model XK8, and they didn't just point at the most expensive ones, they gave her good solid advice and even preloaded it with the correct profile for her car so she could use it straight out of the box. The old school cherry on the top for me was the mini bag of Harribo. Really good company and I'd recommend them to absolutely anyone from DIY to professional garage services.

I bought an Autel AP200 dongle, for £60, and it's paid for itself many, many times over. By no means the best out there I'm sure, but it's fairly simple and easy to use. Usefully for me, it's also idiot proof. It's fairly in depth with what it scans, and you can reset service lights, activate the ABS for brake bleeding, tell the car it's got a new battery, all that sort of thing. Also fits nicely within the glovebox, which is where it lives in my Discovery!

I can second that - excellent company and products!

just be careful that that version of launch is not the chinese one. It'll work but you have to buy any modules you want to use on an annual basis. the more expensive EU version has them all built in as standard.. I have the Chinese one, it does work, but you have to buy the modules you need at £40 ish a go.

I have an iCarsoft CR Max which is obviously out of your budget (its about £330) but they do the V3.0 which is single make, but Level 3 functions and the V2.0 which is single make and Level 2 functions. The V2.0 is about £130 depending on which make it covers. And "Level 2" typically covers ABS, Airbag, Engine, Transmission, BMS, etc.

Level 3 gets you functions such as air conditioning, TPMS, air suspension, etc

You'd need to do a bit of research relating to your make of car to determine if its worth going for Level 3 over Level 2.

I have Foxwell NT530 Full Systems Scan Tool, bought from Gendan. I use BMW/Mini and Porsche software and find it excellent and can read and reset many car specific things. For example, I changed auto box and transfer box fluids in my X5 last year and was able to reset the calibrations in both units. Also used to read Porsche specific engine codes in my Cayman and reset the oil service interval. It's circa £80 to add another manufacturer.

Topdon Topscan, great piece of kit for peanuts.

Last few jobs:

Honda Civic rear ABS sensor, read the live data from all the sensors, cleared the codes after repair.

Audi Q3, rear pad change, put the EPB into service mode and reset it afterwards.

BMW 420, reset all the brake warnings after a pad change, reset service reminders, oil change etc.

Nissan Note, diagnosed an airbag clockspring and cleared the codes after a replacement.

Best £50 tool I`ve ever bought.
