Suggest colour for stairs

I'm appealing to the good people of PH to suggest some colours for my front steps. The current paint is flaking and needs redone. I was thinking about changing the colour, but not very good with (horrendous at) photoshop.

Can someone please edit the attached pic to give me an idea what the steps would look like. Obviously in some tones which suit the existing colour of the house please.

I'm much more upset by the colour of the window frames than the steps - they clash horribly with the red brick. Swap them out for classic cream and not only will they compliment the red brick beautifully but they'll also key nicely with the steps which can then be left alone.
