Hello! Could you kindly confirm if there’s any documented history of the Vanos or Rod bearings being done?
Kind regards
Aaron

Hi Aaron
Neither of those things have been done nor required attention according to the garage where it is normally serviced.
Thanks

Evening!

Appreciate the great photos and write up. Very comprehensive and helpful.

What was the reason for repainting the front bumper? Accident or just down to stone chips/general wear?

And please confirm on the last service date being March 2022?

Many thanks,
Jack

Hi jack

I scratched it in one of those awful subterranean french car park exit spirals... had to get it sorted. Last service was inspection 2 on 30th march 2022. I just havent driven it very much and normally follow the service mileage indicator in the car. Still has 4k miles left before its next inspection 1 according to the computer.

Thanks

Thank you for the info on the bumper.

On the MOT history, it notes about corrosion on rear suspension components, which has not shown up on the recent MOT. What was done to rectify these advisories please?

And I see the rocker cover gasket was replaced in 2022, but there was an oil leak noted on the 2023 MOT, was this also rectified?

Many thanks,
Jack

Hello jack

I had the corrosion reviewed independently from the kwik fit MOT station. Anti corrosion paint and grease was applied to all areas of the rear of the vehicle even though the opinion was the station was overly harsh with their diagnosis. This work was noted and passed at the subsequent MOT test.

Regarding the oil leak the rocker cover gasket (in my opinion) was not put back after the inspection II service - and was subsequently replaced after i noted an oil smell in the cabin the week after the service. The other leak was investigated and no evidence of it was found. I
