I see the ESP / traction light is on.
Is this because the system has been switched off or is there an issue with the system?

Hi, it comes on intermittently. I’ve read the codes with a high end scanner and it always comes back clear. There are no issues I’m aware of with the Haldex 4WD system, which all appears to operate as it ought to. I’m around all weekend, so happy for anyone to come and have a look at the car.

Can you confirm when the Haldex oil was last changed?

Also, has any money been spent on the timing chains?

Hi James, the Haldex oil was last changed by the previous owner in September 2023 at 98k miles, when he had the clutch changed and a full transmission service. I’ve no idea about the timing chains but it’s my understanding (happy to be corrected) that they’re not the issue on these later engines that they were on the earlier VR6 units. There’s no chain rattle or tensioner noise, for certain.
