I am getting my Late Father's car back on the road. He made it from scratch using all sorts of pieces. It has been off the road for 10 years and naturally I need to replace a few items.
So, hive mind....
Please can you ID this washer bottle and wiper fitment please.
The water bottle is 113mm x 69mm x 192mm. The wiper is 10" or 250mm long and stamped Stainless steel.

Thank you. He probably paid a £5 for it at a jumble. A new pump is €75! I will find one at the NEC next weekend which I can modify.

Built in 1993 using a Volvo 340 1400cc engine. Put away in 2011 just before his death. Fiddled Saturday, checking spark, etc and all it has is a blocked fuel line. It started 3rd turn. MOT next

Marvellous. Thanks very much for posting those. What a lovely way to remember your dad.

As Dicky says, OP, that's brilliant.

Because it's Volvo 300-Series based, and appears to have a Volvo gear lever, are we right to assume it's still got the transaxle? If so, that was a pretty brave, but inspired move on your dad's part. Probably helps with the F/R weight distribution and allows decent handling. Bravo!

It sits on the Di Deon at the back. I know he shortened the prop but don't know if he made the rear axle narrower.
It feels really quick, but you are in the open and low. It's perfectly balanced!

Possibly adapted from a Morgan? The crank in the arms is quite pronounced.

That's a really well built little car. Love the parallel rear axle links, proper design. On the negative, the screen looks very vertical so a bit of aero braking and the roll bar won't do much without additional support but hey, brilliant. Very much like a trials car, in shape.
Screen looks too tall to be Caterham but you could look at their wipers, or maybe see what the likes of the Locost guys use.
Good luck.

By trade he was a poor farmer. Self taught.
The wipers are really just an MOT tick so a 7 type may work. I’m off to the NEC Sunday so may have luck there.

If you take the screen off for the MOT it won't need working wipers.

What a great little car. smile
Do you need a new wiper arm, or a blade to fit it? Might be best taking the old one to the NEC with you.

In the meantime, some here to browse:
