I've missed the live race and race highlights, but I'm not really that concerned too much since my waning interest in F1 over recent years, and was going through the channels seeing F1 at 1pm on C4

Yet without actually looking for the result, already today it's been on multiple Facebook feeds, YouTube, news, twitter clips and news websites, even F1 itself post up these social media clips....

So do people still hold out for C4 and it's sky fed highlights show that's 2.5 hours long without knowing the result? And without Brundles commentary either. I wonder how much C4 pay for it and what viewership they get in return?

I try to, but sometimes make the mistake of opening the BBC website without thinking and, of course, they have the result on the front page rolleyes

My fault, but very annoying.

As long as I can avoid the BBC website, I don't tend to see it anywhere else.

I've been watching it on C4 ever since it stopped being free to view.

That was my plan today, to early live, and same for skys 8 am ish replay..

Avoided any internet that could show me the result...

Sorted a few bits in the garden, and then 1pm watched C4s highlight show.

If you can discipline yourself not to discover the result in advance, it can a good way to watch the race after the event - and the ‘highlights’ can confine it to the best bits.

So much preamble ... They must know that we are just interested in the race and the interviews afterwards. Tying up the show with quirky interviews...mehhh

Is there really any F1 fan out there that genuinely doesn't see all this already on socials or internet these days , that wants to sit through an hour of this before the actual race highlights...

I'm going digging for viewer figures for C4 now....

I'm wondering if sky pays them to make this agony to watch and listen to the race commentary of Mr shouty shout with the odd but of Coulthard....

I managed to avoid seeing the result before watching highlights. I even dared to use YouTube and didn't have any spoilers thrown in my face.

I've tried a few times but you have to avoid absolutely everything. And once when I did Sky showed the result just before the repeat show...... Once I saw the result on Facebook. Once my dad messaged to see if I enjoyed X winning........ Sooo now I tend to try to just watch live.

Yeah I just scrolling through Facebook this morning and it popped up and somewhere I don't even follow.

I watch on C4, I try to stay away from results but sometimes a popup or something gets through. Today I saw who won and that there was race start shenanigans because wet race. Still a good race to watch though, and I got to skip however long the start delay was.

I also watch the C4 coverage and in most cases manage to avoid the result, although these days it doesn't bother me if I happen to find out.

It was on my home feed thing. I literally opened up Facebook completely thoughtlessly then it was right there on my feed FFS.

I find myself something to do, a job around the house or garage and/or getting out on my bike. Avoid TV and radio (BBC are buggers for blurting out the result) and stay away from my phone unless it's ringing.

It does sometimes feel more of a hassle and dedication avoiding the result than it would be to have just got up and watched it live I will admit.

Pretty much because the Sky licence limits how much racing time can be shown in the programme so they have to eat it out with preamble

Until Virgin offered me a good enough deal to get the SkySports package I've survived on delayed coverage for years.

Just avoid social media. Which in itself is a good idea. If you cant not look at IG, facebook or twitter for 6 hours or whatever. You have an addiction! laugh

Go and tidy your home or go for a walk outside!

Watch on C4. Usually manage to avoid the result by avoiding news and social media. My record is Wednesday for the Brazilian GP a few years ago after I was unable to watch the highlights show, it took C4 ages to upload it to the website and commitments meant I didn't have time when it was initially uploaded.

Since AD '21 I've watched on C4 and only been caught out a handful of times - usually friends/family. However, I subscribed to F1TV just before qualifying on Sat and will see if the season warrants the small outlay.

Same for me. Went onto the BBC sports app this morning to find out the rugby scores from yesterday and completely forgot about the GP … suddenly see Norris wins!!! Ahhhhhhhh…

Isn’t the commentary C4 uses the same as the official English language commentary F1 provides to the rest of the world, either via F1 TV or for local distribution? Not sure who provides who in this case (as in C4/Whisper provides the feed to FOM or vv)

No, C4 commentary is an extension of RBR as they are unable to find the shoehorn for Horner's arse, sadly.

Lol. i always thought they simply drooled over Hamilton all the time. I especially thought Thier treatment of Rosberg v Hamilton was so utterly bias I thought Anthony Hamilton was feeding them backhanders....
