Plastic Tank Paint Blisters - Lining ?

Has anyone had any long term success with repainting a blistered plastic tank ?

DIY or professional

I presume the only solution is to line the inside of the tank

I know many use perforated vinyl graphics but this was painted as standard and I'd like to keep it original if possible
