I'd like to replace the side indicator bulbs with LED bulbs, but not sure how to remove just the lens from the outside the car, or do I remove the whole side marker lamp? Can I remove just the lens to get at the bulb from outside the car?
I did a quick search, but didn't see anything about how to replace the bulb or remove the lens from outside the car...

Are you taking about the ones on the wings behind the wheel?

They're just glued on with sticky foam, they're '90s ford ones from escort/fiesta ect so you can buy led/smoked/weird versions if you are so inclined.

Yes, I'm talking about the side indicator lamps in the wings behind the front wheels.
Are you saying the LENS is just held on with sticky foam, or is the whole LAMP held on with sticky foam?
I'm to assume the LENS just pulls off to then replace the bulb?

Thxs for the quick response!

The whole thing is a single unit:

The foam isn’t sticky.

Ease the lamp to one side to release the clip and it will pop out.

Yeah on the fords that they come from they're clipped in but because chimaera is thick fiberglass they're just stuck on with foam pads like on the back of a numberplate.

You can see the back of them in that eBay listing, the bulb holder just pushes into the back of it I think, they might be 501 bulbs, it's been a long time since I've looked at them

My car must've been made on a Friday then, the hole behind the lense is so big that it would have never clipped in hehe

hehe mine were definitely clipped in, foam has to be squashed a lot to cope with the thicker wing material as you mention.

Thxs to all!
The pics helped with how the lamp mounts to the fender, so getting the lamp "moving slightly" back & forth was the key, and then the lamps came off. Then the wiring is disconnected and then the bulb holder does a slight twist and separates, and I replaced the bulb on both sides with LEDs.
Simple thing / job done....just needed advice & pics from this site! Thxs!

I did exactly this too.
I was advised to get an electronic relay, because the original mechanical relay won’t drive the LEDs. Classiccarleds provided the info and the solution. In my experience, they were right.
