Hi all

My first foray into this part of the forum which will no doubt become clear when you look at the following picture.

Basically my seat needs a bit of a clean.

The dirt I can deal with but there is a brown band on the seat back that was caused by a cheap belt I bought off Amazon.

Can anyone rectify a process or product to undo this unfortunate situation?

Thanks in advance.

Ps no jokes about dirty protests please.

Pps I realise I should take more care of my car seats, but we are where we are.

That sounds like my sort of product…. Potentially cheap.

Many thanks.

It’s better, but not great.

Can anyone recommend a more aggressive cleaner?

Thanks

For starters, there's an excellent Gliptone leather cleaning spray,
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gliptone-Leather-COMPLETE...

Afterwards I would treat the seat with Gliptone leather conditioner,
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gliptone-Leather-Conditio...

For a less "off the shelf" approach I'd start with warm water, a good carpet cleaning detergent (Rug Doctor or Vax) and a medium stiffness brush. Blot the seat dry with plain kitchen paper and then allow to dry completely in the air. See if it's made a difference.

If, after cleaning, you need to improve the colour there are loads of leather recolouring/reconditioning products available,

Colourlock strong Leather cleaner is where it’s at. Gently work it in neat on a soft brush, don’t scrub. Wipe off and repeat if necessary. Will bring up the steering wheel etc really well too.

They do a conditioner for older leather too which is excellent- preserves the matte finish you’ll get from the cleaning.

I found the Gliptone conditioner too thick and it smells weird IMO.
