Just in the process of refreshing my V8 Vantage S front suspension and would like to replace the outer track rod ends before I have the geometry done again. I have sprayed them up with plus gas but haven’t attempted to remove them yet. Are they a normal thread or is 1 and opposite thread etc? Any hints or tips before I make a start?

Many Thanks

Not sure if there the same as the ones on the DB9 but if they are be aware that there is a metal insert in the hub that the track rod end fits into. When you remove the track rod the insert tends to come out with it and it can be a real pain to get off. Good luck

Both sides are the same part number, so that would suggest that they are both the same right-handed thread.

I've only ever changed the left hand one on my V8 Vantage, and it came off no problem.

But as ian448 says, make sure you replace the steel conical insert from the knuckle if it comes out with the old track rod end.

Thanks for your advice guys. I will tackle it over the next few days. Planning on heating with a blow torch before hand so hopefully come off ok.

Can’t believe how easily they come off. I did t hear them just sprayed with plus gas a few days prior and the outset track rod end came off the track rod with ease. I had already removed the end from the hub as I’ve had the suspension arms and hubs off to be vapour blasted. Yes the bush did stay on the track rod end opposed to in the hub.

Thanks again
