2010 W212 E350

Previous owner replaced timing chain tensioner and cross threaded it and buggered the thread, (cheeky bugger covered it in silicone so it didn't start noticeably leaking until a couple of thousand miles after I bought it).

Local merc specialist have tried re-tapping and using Merc spec liquid gasket type stuff, new washers etc, still leaks.

Anyone any ideas how to bodge this more effectively? It's OM642.850 which command ridiculous prices from a scrappy... It runs fine and only leaves a few drops every time it is parked but I can't be leaving oil everywhere I go in it.

Thanks

Would have to pull the engine to access, and I think there is an oil channel pretty close to the hole so not sure if enough room to drill out...

Clean with brake cleaner, blow dry, and seal with JB Weld. If that won't do it, nothing will, but it will make removal extremely difficult.

Loctite also do some excellent stud lock & seal products - Loctite 577, it won't leak and can be removed if needed.
