Undoing Fn Key Lock on laptop?!
Discussion
Lenovo Yoga 920 Laptop
Could some good samaritan tell me how do undo me somehow putting a function key lock on so when I hit any of the dual purpose function keys the action is [the F key action] ...
Example: I hit the F3/Volume up key and the action is the F3 programmed response - in my case open a search bar
I know I can use the Function key + button to rectify for a button action but I think I have knocked out the use of the Delete key on the top row - which I need a lot in excel etc.
Thanks a lot!
(I have tried Fn + Esc key options as per internet to rectify but no dice)

Try:
Fn + F1 (some models use this combination)
NOPE
Check BIOS settings (restart and press F2/F12 during boot)
Look for "Hotkey Mode" or "Function Keys" settings in BIOS
How do I get out of BIOS before I try this?! - Thanks
Windows settings: Control Panel ? Keyboard ? Function key behavior
NOPE - Cannot find. Not under Keyboard. Not in Windows Mobility Center as google of same suggests. Indeed no mention of Function keys at all when search in Control PanelFn + F1 (some models use this combination)

From memory (my previous laptop was a Lenovo Yoga) use the included Lenovo software (the one for their monitoring, patching etc.) Seem to remember there is an option in there that changes the registry setting (as that can be a real PITA to find)
Well done that man! Bingo.
Didn't cure the delete key not working but at least eliminates the fn ket stuff as a possibility
Thanks a mil
Bonkers - why would I want that in the Vantage software and not in control panel. Don't ask.......
