I have just watched a documentary on Youtube made by Endevr, The American oligarchy:How corrupt is US politics.

Has always been thus, the President has always been more or less of a puppet having his strings pulled by the people that paid for their presidency and there are few if any American politicians that become poorer as a result of entering politics. It's an absurd system, then you start looking at the judiciary and how the legal system (doesn't) work and things like infant mortality and you think is this really the best they can do.

It would also explain why people like McConnell, Pelosi et all carry on until their 80's/90's rather than retiring and spending time with the grandkids.
