Podiatry question
Discussion
Hi all,
If there is a podiatrist reading this and could answer, I would be very grateful.
Had some pain in the ball of the foot. Saw a podiatrist who said possible fat pad atrophy.
Got a second opinion from another podiatrist who used an ultrasound to measure the thickness, which was 8mm on one side and 8.7mm on the other. She said this wasn't atrophy and generally pretty normal for an adult male.
Looking online, apparently anything less than 1cm is atrophy. But everything I've read is talking about the heel, whereas mine is in the ball of the foot.
What thickness would be described as atrophy in the ball.of foot??
Thanks!
