Oil for 718 GT4
Discussion
Guys - I’m getting a little confused over which oil I can use in my 718 GT4. Owners handbook says Mobil1 C40 (0W-40) which Google suggests is the “ESP X4” which was previously X3. But there’s also a GT specific oil which I think is only for the RS. Can anyone help, with a link if possible? UK based.
Grok says:
For your UK 718 GT4, stick with Mobil 1 ESP X3 0W-40 (or X4 if available), as it meets the C40 spec required for your GPF-equipped engine and is Porsche-approved for your model. The Mobil 1 C40 GT 0W-40 is meant for the GT4 RS and similar 9K RPM engines, not the standard GT4. If you’re tracking the car heavily, the ESP X3 0W-40 is still robust enough, though some enthusiasts opt for alternatives like Motul 8100 X-Clean GEN2 5W-40 (also C40-approved) for slightly better high-temperature stability—perfectly legal under warranty as long as it meets C40.
Thanks

Grok pretty much correct. I would run Mobil 1 ESP X4 0W-40 (C40)
