Recommendations for brakes - F31 BMW 340i
Discussion
Hi,
I’m due a big service soon and one of the areas I’m going to cover is the front brakes, my car has the 370mm front discs, and I’m considering the Zimmermann slotted and dimpled two piece discs, but I haven’t decided on what pads to go for. I’ve had bad experience with Brembo pads on my other BMW’s(squealing like a stuck pig) so what’s a good option? Cost isn’t the main deciding factor

IMO either OEM BMW, ATE or Brembo 2 piece discs with ATE Ceramic, OEM BMW M3/M4 pads or the Pagid Street+ padsI’m due a big service soon and one of the areas I’m going to cover is the front brakes, my car has the 370mm front discs, and I’m considering the Zimmermann slotted and dimpled two piece discs, but I haven’t decided on what pads to go for. I run the OEM BMW M Performance slotted/grooved discs on our F31 with OEM BMW brake pads all round; fantastic braking, a bit dusty but then again the wheels are ceramic coated, so they soon clean up
I've fitted Brembo 2 piece discs and the Pagid Street+ pads to my 130i with the Brembo 4 pot calipers up froint (340mm Brembo 2 piece discs, but the pads are the same size) and they're superb; really good braking and not as dusty
The ATE Ceramic pads are excellent also; very light on dust too...
You'll get them all via Autodoc, bar OEM BMW - won't be cheap, but worth seeing what Cotswolds BMW can offer and checking on eBay too to see if there are any deals/discounts going currently

Ensure that you go for: 'S2NHA=Yes' parts

M3/M4 pads:

I wouldn't use Zimmerman personally; never found them to be that good and their anti-corrosion coating doesn't last long at all in my experience
