Jaguar S type V6 to S3 conversion

Hello,

I keep daydreaming about converting my car to FI but a kit from Lotus bits is now £5k or I could probably work it out for myself for something like half of that... but...
I saw yesterday that Rocketeer fit the above Ford V6 into an MX5 and it looks to be a cracking conversion, and it occurred to me that it would be a great fit into my Esprit... sacronblu (spelling?).
Obviously there are other issues now potentially with modifying cars?

Obviously it is a lot more work but this really would transform the car only for the better in my mind.
Is anyone aware of this having been done before?

I'd be tempted to look more towards the Toyota 3.5 V6 used in the Evora and Exige, there's more chance of finding Lotus shaped and branded parts that will work with the engine and gearbox replacement.

No idea if anyone has ever done this, as I suspect those who want a very fast Esprit would just sell the one they have, put it with the money an engine and gearbox swap would cost, and buy the Esprit Sport 350 V8 instead.

Ha Ha yes it always makes more sense to buy a better faster version of a car than go to all the trouble and cost etc.. I probably won`t do it but it`s a thought. I do like the S3 though... and of course I should just buy a turbo but they have issues too... apparently?
